I misread the recipe and have used tbps for things that should have been tsps.
3 tbsp dark soy
3 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tsp light soy (did tablespoons)
3 tsp vinegar (did tablespoons)
3 tsp sugar (did tablespoons)
3 tbsp water

How much extra of the tablespoons amounts should I do so the flavour is right? Brain is not working so just can't work it out. Many thanks!

A teaspoon is a third of a tablespoon.
So you've multiplied the recipie (in parts!) by 3.
Add 2 more of whatever should be tablespoons.

LIZS · 07/05/2021 17:44

But if you have used 3 tbsp instead of teaspoons you need to multiply tbsp by 9

No forget that pp is right!

A tbsp is 3 x tsp (tbsp is 15ml; tsp is 5ml)

You therefore need to do 9 tbsp of each of the dark soy, oyster sauce, water (so another 6 tbsp on top of the 3 you've already done) to make the proportions right.

You'll have quite a lot of sauce Grin

How does it currently taste? Might be ok. The vinegar:sugar is correct which is the important bit.

DancesWithDaffodils · 07/05/2021 17:47

Ignore my first reply.
You need 6 more of everything in tablespoons (2 more for each one that should be there)

LadyCatStark · 07/05/2021 17:50

Taste it first and see what it’s like, it might be ok.

BettyBooper · 07/05/2021 17:50

Surely 9 tablespoons not 3 tablespoons multiplied by 9?! That would be 27 tablespoons!

longtompot · 07/05/2021 18:58

Thanks all. I just added two more tbsps of oyster sauce as it tasted ok. A bit too much sauce for the recipe but still nice.
