The Falklands.

Can’t wait. Sheep and penguins. What more does anyone need. At least there will be no danger of sunburn..........

I am assuming that this is a joke but they won't let you in, unless you happen to be dual Falkland Islands resident. My parents have been twice and had provisionally booked to go again last year but it keeps getting put back because the borders are closed.

Or Israel... or the lovely rock of Gibraltar...

@LadyCatStark

Or Israel... or the lovely rock of Gibraltar...
It’s going to be standing room only on the Rock of Gibraltar.

Can you even fly to the Falklands?

Bobbybobbins · 07/05/2021 17:53

I haven't even heard of one of the places on the list!!!

minniemomo · 07/05/2021 17:59

Would love to go to the Falklands... but it's costs several thousand because you have to buy a seat on a military flight!

brainstories568 · 07/05/2021 18:21

@minniemomo you can also go via Chile on their national airline. I believe that a Brazilian airline were also discussing operating a route but I imagine that will be shelved for now. If you go on the RAF flights then you stop over in Cape Verde, so essentially it's pointless saying that people can go there when all flights (from the UK) go via a country where quarantine is required.

EcoCustard · 07/05/2021 18:25

Grin, Tristan da Cunha anyone? Tried years ago and it involved getting the mail ship ( I think they now have an airport), and it was a lot of money then. Another holiday in the garden awaits ......Sad

LittleSwede · 07/05/2021 18:30

I want to go tp St Helena! I'm sure that's where they (British) kept Napoleon safe from furthering the expansion of his empire at some point? He might have suffered from syphilis?? Sounds like a hoot!

EssentialHummus · 07/05/2021 18:37

And Israel, if I understand correctly, will only accept Israeli passport holders or their spouses, so... Gibraltar, everyone?

I actually think it’s fine and sensible. And I’m speaking as someone with family overseas who we won’t see for the second year on the trot.

RampantIvy · 07/05/2021 18:40

Will you be yomping?

BlowDryRat · 07/05/2021 19:21

Costa Rica! Yay!

KindergartenKop · 07/05/2021 21:23

Tell Aviv in Israel is lovely!

Aurorie11 · 07/05/2021 21:27

Had a fab month holiday in the Falklands about 20 years ago, flew via Chile so probably not doable at the moment. Loved it and would go back

Aurorie11 · 07/05/2021 21:30

@viques sunburn is a real risk there as ozone is thin so can burn easily. Don't think anywhere else in the world you will hear as part of the weather forecast 'the wind chill factor for newly shorn sheep' Grin
