I wasn't aware of it until I saw your thread @Devlesko.

Looks very scary to me:

Those poor people

BellaTheDog · 07/05/2021 15:38

I am there. It is nowhere near as bad as Grenfell. It’s only about 3 flats that have been affected and everybody got out.

Alexapissoff · 07/05/2021 15:41

Seems like the fire service got it under control very quickly, thank god.

Woodlandbelle · 07/05/2021 15:43

I'm so sorry to hear this Sad

spittycup · 07/05/2021 15:59

I can see it from my flat window. I'm on floor 18 on another building.

There were two fire engines I could see, not couldn't see the actual fire area. Think they must have put it out very quick, before it was actually reported on.

The attention is probably due to Grenfell and cladding fears more than the severity itself.

Woodlandbelle · 07/05/2021 16:01

Good to hear its OK thanks sippy

CuriousaboutSamphire · 07/05/2021 16:10

The BBC radio news was initially quite scary - multiple engines working on a fifteen storey high rise in Poplar.

It's a relief to hear it's not so horrendous. Thanks.

Kote · 07/05/2021 16:26

This gave me a scare.. I used to live in this building. What a relief they got it under control quickly as it could have been devastating. Hopefully everyone is ok.

BellaTheDog · 07/05/2021 16:29

I live close by in another building with the same cladding. Nobody can sell their flats because of it.

Devlesko · 07/05/2021 19:08

Thanks, for the replies. I saw it on my laptop from two different papers, the headlines were quite scary, especially about the cladding.
It should be removed, I'm sorry people can't move. Sad
