Spider with skull

Please can someone tell me what this spider is please.
Before anyone gets upset it's squished... It was in my 17 month old little girls washing. I saw the skull and freaked out because it came right out the bag to her.
It looks like a skull and it had a big bum and 2 longer front legs.
I can't find any other spiders with a skull that doesn't say it's a noble false widow..but I don't know if it's dark enough to be one?
Thankyou. Freaking out momma here.

it looks like a normal orb spider to me.
and even if it was a false widow, they are not agressive at all.

It's a woodlouse eating spider. Not venomous but they have fairly powerful jaws that can nip.

It looks more like a false widow to me. I’m afraid I don’t let them survive in our house.

I never understand this " they are not aggressive" do they need to be to bite a small child or human when they are caught in towels or clothing? I know 5 people personally who have been on antibiotics due to these non aggressive but still venomous creatures biting and I know far more whom I have heard also ended up with a hole and very nasty bite indeed.

Some are a lighter brown, quite vibrant orange, yellow legs too.

We had an invasion one year I noticed one in our window, then saw them everywhere.

Look out for distinctive messy webs - they particularity like the top corner of window frames.

Actually yes on a second it does look more like a false widow - it was the placement of legs that fooled me, I've just seen that there are some missing.

If I found one I wouldn't be terrified, but I would have a look around to see if there were any friends. When you say it was in her washing OP, was it dried outside?

Tjohnson4 · 07/05/2021 16:28

Yes I was dried outside then brought in and been sat for a day in the bag. So might of come from outside. A friend of mine says it looks like a laced webbed spider ? Picture looked similar on Google. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for more just in case. The legs fell off when I squished it they are next to the body on the picture . I've seen no webs atm either. I'm shaking everything I pick up, gave me the right ebbie jeepies lol X
