Anyone up and need company?

I had my vaccine yesterday and was fine until bedtime and now I have a fever. Can't sleep at all so I'm downstairs cuddling the puppy and watching Judge Judy reruns.

Anyone else up and can't sleep?

pinklashes98 · 07/05/2021 03:35

Hiya! My four week old just had a massive poo explosion 🥴🥴 sorry for the gory details! Just rocking him to sleep now, hoping to get some sleep at some point 😴😴

pinklashes98 · 07/05/2021 03:36

Oh sorry I forgot to say, I hope your feeling better soon 🙂

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/05/2021 03:45

Thank you, hope you feel better soon too @qwertyl and hope baby goes back off to sleep quickly @pinklashes98

It's weird being unwell because lockdown has meant we haven't had the usual illnesses you might get over the year.

Hi guys, I’m up after my vaccine too.

I felt fine earlier but woke suddenly about 50 mins ago with really weird uncontrollable body stretches Confused

My left thigh has a horrible ache, I keep going cold and I’m really thirsty too.

Wide awake now of course.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/05/2021 03:55

Weirdly this evening my left leg was red and hot to touch, did you have your vaccine in your left arm?

Mine started with chills and shivering. Then I kept waking up after what I thought was hours but only 10/15 Minutes each time. I was disturbing DH so was just easier to get up.

I assume I don't need to get a test with a fever side effect? Need to look that up actually before the kids head off to school.

I hope you all feel better soon!! Nothing vaccine related here just the need to get up and do some house work!! Had set alarm for 4 but woke at 3 Confused lay there telling myself not to be ridiculous but awake so decided to get up and carry on at which point my 3 year old needed settling back off! Shock hoping to be cleaning the bathroom any time soon!! Grin

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 07/05/2021 03:57

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat I wouldn’t think you need to get tested as fever seems to be a common side effect assuming no cough etc hopefully will settle soon for you!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/05/2021 04:05

Housework 😱 I feel like such a slacker. How come?

Spot on about the test though, no need for a test if it starts within 48 hours of the vaccine and no other symptoms.

I've just managed to book my first vaccine for later in the month...im a bit worried now.

I'm awake as Ive had an anxiety ridden few days and finally cracked last night. Took myself off to bed at 6pm and woke up at 2.30. Im happy for any sleep I can get at the moment tho. Just waiting for dh to get up at 5 so I can start housework.

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 07/05/2021 04:18

I’ve got a day off and want to spend it playing with my little one but have been a bit slack on house work front!! Hmm side effect of having no guests and newly increased work hours - also quite nice to do it uninterrupted!! Grin something pleasant about serving breakfast with most of housework already done! Grin

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 07/05/2021 04:22

@Patters4779 sorry you’ve had a tough week and glad you’ve managed some sleep! Have you got anything nice planned for after the house work? Try not to worry about vaccine (I know it’s easy for someone to say this!) I got a little worked up before mine as was lucky enough to have it early on through work but was fine like the majority of people and felt so much better psychologically having had it! Happy cleaning to you!! Flowers

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 07/05/2021 04:24

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat no need to feel like a slacker feeling ill is the best excuse for not doing house work! Kind of jealous Re the tv watching!! Wink

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 07/05/2021 04:28

Morning everyone

I'm sorry to hear about all the vaccination side effects, I hope it is short lived.

pinklashes98 - congratulations on your little one.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat - I am full of admiration that you've started the housework already.

I'm up because I'm not a good sleeper atm. I walked about 4 miles along the coast yesterday. It was beautiful and I really thought I would sleep well, but no....

Patters4779 · 07/05/2021 04:28

Thank you! No...nothing planned at all. I had a breakdown 4 weeks ago so still very fragile. But baby steps and I'm actually starting to see past the next hour etc. Im sure I'll be fine now ive finally accepted help (only took 20yrs so I'm grateful for any positive thoughts I have)

Its actually nice to feel rested and the house is so quiet without the noise of 3 teenagers getting ready for work/school. The dog is asleep with my oldest so I've even managed to have a cuppa without throwing a ball once 😁

I'm such a lucky person...honestly. amazing family and friends...I think ill just sit and count my blessings for an hour xx

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 07/05/2021 04:30

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat - sorry just read that you aren't doing housework........ I'm not either

inigomontoyahwillcox · 07/05/2021 05:11

Been awake since 3 ... again. Been suffering from really distressing ear/hearing problems for a few weeks now. Woke up with them particularly bad in both ears (usually just one) and I've been freaking out a bit. DH sleeping in the other room due to his snoring, but I did just have to go and wake him up and have a bit of a cry whilst he provided me with some of his characteristic optimism. Seeing an ENT doc this afternoon but the fear of him not being able to do anything to help is also keeping me awake with worry.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 07/05/2021 05:14

Oh yeah - and currently being investigated for interstitial cystitis and have been having a flare up since yesterday. To be honest, I'm a bit scared I'll do something drastic as I'm getting to the end of my tether pain/distressing symptom-wise.

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 07/05/2021 06:21

Flowers @inigomontoyahwillcox hope the consultant can offer some help this afternoon have had ear issues in the past and does get you down! Hand hold from me - interstitial cystitis sounds horrid Sad glad you’ve got supportive husband there

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 07/05/2021 07:47

Sorry I ended up falling asleep. Just seeing the teens out the door then I'm heading back off to bed.

Sorry so many awake at that hour are in pain, physically or mentally. I hope you all have better days Flowers
