Anyone Used We Buy Any Car?

I am looking to change cars and We Buy Any Car has offered £1,400 more than the trade in I was quoted by the dealer. Any experiences good or bad please? TIA

I think once they've inspected it, they'll massively reduce the quoted amount, and if you decline, charge you for their work. I'd stick with the dealer's offer.

I used our Wbac offer to get an increased trade in price from dealer. Have you tried that?

Pumpkyumpkyumpkin · 06/05/2021 21:21

We've used them 3 times and always been pretty happy. Just be prepared to get knocked down a bit form what they've quoted. I think my last little car the quote said £1100 and I ended up with £950. DH sold his much fancier car to them a few months ago and was happy enough with what he got after they knocked him down for just having one key, he used to be in the car trade so he knows his stuff.

Used them over 10 yrs ago, we got the full price quoted but the car was a couple of years old and immaculate. Found the process very easy x

Sold my mum's car via WBAC -- no issue. Use Parkers to get realistic estimate of price, get a rough idea of reasonable depreciation on that price based on damage to vehicle. I actually found process transparent, wasn't a particularly hard sell. Think key is to know realistic price, and have a limit you won't go below. I don't think they reduced the price/haggled post inspection, it was one number quoted and that was that. £1800 is a lot of money, so I'd use WBAC to be honest.

They’re fine. Expect some knocked off but you can always walk away at that point if it’s too much. And the cash takes 7 days I think unless you pay a fee. As long as you’re realistic about what they’ll actually pay it’s ok. I’ve used them a couple of times

tinseloatcake · 06/05/2021 21:24

We used them a few weeks ago. £3k car, they took £50 off which dh thought was reasonable. Money arrived when they said it would, job done.

LongIslandIcedT · 06/05/2021 21:26

Once they've fine toothed combed it, be prepared for 100s to be knocked off.
Other than that, it is a handy service for quickly getting rid of cars with not much bother.

Takingabreakagain · 06/05/2021 21:27

Used them a couple of years ago as they offered more than the garage was offering for part exchange. We got the price quoted on the website.
I think if you're honest and realistic about any scratches etc then the quote should be accurate

parietal · 06/05/2021 21:28

we used them, worked fine.

scrivette · 06/05/2021 21:35

My parents used them, the price was reduced very slightly due to scratches/dents but they were pleased with how easy it all was.

Bigwave · 06/05/2021 21:36

I used motorway.co.uk instead and got more ££

I got a much better deal from Evans Halshaw when I sold my Focus a couple of years ago than from WBAC.

And even after I told WBAC I'd sold it they still kept calling me!

augustusglupe · 07/05/2021 16:11

About 7 years ago. I sold my old Golf to them. I was ready to be knocked down a lot in price but it wasn't too far off what I wanted in the end. Saved me the hassle of trying to sell it privately. I'd use them again.

Evenstar · 20/05/2021 14:13

In case anyone was wondering about WBAC, I sold my car to them today for £1,200 more than the garage offered me as a trade in. I started the process with motorway.co.uk but found them very hard to deal with and they demanded huge amounts of photos and still wanted more and their estimated price was over £200 less than I got.

Thanks all for sharing your experiences.
