Is there a UK version of The Nugget?

nuggetcomfort.com/

I've just found the couch I never knew I needed for dd's room but they only seem to be available in the US. There are many alternatives (again in the US) but I can't find even one option here.

Thanks, but that one doesn't come apart. The Nugget doubles up as a sort of couch/soft play centre. If you scroll down the webpage it shows all the different set ups you can do.

We had a similar set up from Sklüm, they do modular sofa pieces individually. It's not sold for play but our children used it for that. It was quite expensive although we did buy a lot of pieces and unfortunately now shipping is really expensive too thanks to Brexit.

MissGendered · 06/05/2021 20:34

@Kottbullar I was tempted to order from SKLUM but the recent reviews suggest that the company might be going under. Or is at least badly affected by Brexit.

That's a shame if that is the case, I know we were going to order garden furniture and were unfortunately put off buy the delivery charges.
Urban Outfitters have the same/similar cushions to the Sklum range though or another possibly cheaper option might be the outdoor cushions you can get for pallet furniture.

Hi, I’ve come across a few in the past week and am still debating white route to go down.

The main contender is @Dova.play on Instagram. Love let colour options, but it’s a whopping £385. A bit too steep for me.

Second, there’s the @zonky.uk. Very reasonably priced at £199, but their colour selection is awful in my opinion.

Lastly, and the option I’m probably going with is this set of foldable sofas/beds from a seller on Etsy called Loft25. If you go through their store they have a lot of colour/fabric options, and also you can opt for the smaller single design or a double. I think personally, this is the route I’m going to go down as 2 singles pretty much imitate the make up of the typical nugget design components that the previous companies have imitated, minus the two side pieces for a fraction of the price. Two singles will total to under £100.

I hope this was helpful! Fingers crossed my cost effective option works out Smile

I'm glad someone asked this question, as I'm looking for one as well.

I found this company castlefort.co/ and was considering purchasing, but on closer inspection the pictures seem to be taken straight from Nugget website and that makes me wonder Hmm

Imohsotired · 10/10/2021 15:33

I was researching this for Christmas, came across
Zonky
Sofee
smyths (huddle)
Victor and Eugenie
Dova

I love the Viktor and Eugenie and the Dova but the Zonky is £199 so £150+ less expensive

Looks like there are a few of us taken with the play sofa idea! I only just discovered the nugget and it looks so brilliant for younger kids. There is an option to import the nugget to the UK now as it's got a lot more availability - I've seen a few for sale on ebay. But it does end up being around £500 with delivery and import duties and I worry i wouldn't get it in time for christmas.

I love the nook but that's impossible to get.

The price ranges in the UK are quite big. The smyths one has really bad reviews and people say the builds just collapse and the sofa isn't comfy. If you don't get good foam and microsuede the builds apparently collapse quite easily so it's not great for little ones who might get upset - I suppose it depends on how rough and tumble your kids are!

I also want a no spill fabric and comfy bed (for me) because my son is not sleeping well at the mo so I'm looking at higher end options. I think I want the Sofee and the Padoo (there's another option that looks good but ships from Turkey) but I want it guaranteed for Christmas with all the supply issues going on. I also want it to last - the cheap ones apparently lose shape which is ok if you just want the kids to build structures but I want my kid to bounce on it too and to use it as a sofa / bed.

Never thought I'd get so invested in a play sofa but the rave reviews from America and Oz make them seem more like part of the family! Wish I'd had the option to get any one of the options in lockdown.

I found this website - littleimagineers.com/

JoRaw · 08/01/2022 19:09

Did you end up buying one and are you happy with it?

Justdoingthisnow · 18/01/2022 21:28

@MayaTF did you buy two from Etsy? How did it work out?

I love the Dova but just measured the space in my lounge and it’s too wide! Will keep searching.

MayaTF · 18/01/2022 22:49

Ended up buying a new brand called Zonky. Turns out it’s the same company (Loft 21) who make the Etsy ones I was going to originally buy. Honestly it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made for my son. And my whole family loves it! When my nieces and nephews come over, they double as floor mattresses for sleepovers, and thanks to Instagram, there’s never a shortage of build ideas.
If you have a space problem with the play couches, you could store them folded, tower style. Honestly, zonky’s affordability (£200) and quality knocks dova off the market for me. I’m pretty sure if anyone with a dova knew about Zonky, they’d be crying at the £200 overspend.

serenfach1 · 20/01/2022 11:02

Thanks @mayatf really good to know! I'll have to look to see what the differences are between them. There's got to be something about it that makes it almost twice the price?

JoRaw · 22/01/2022 12:48

@MayaTF do you think an adult would be ok sleeping on it?

MayaTF · 22/01/2022 15:45

Yup! My mum and sister have slept on both layers. They’re both 5.4 and under, and they were super comfortable.
