Davina McCall - a whole different HRT experience (from most of us)

Davina McCall has been talking (and showing) her HRT routine which includes using testosterone. Not to mention that she is in fabulous shape (yeah yeah, if we made the effort, blah blah blah). But it's all about accessibility, right?

Those of us who have been on the HRT merry-go-round on the NHS will know that there is currently NO testosterone therapy licensed for use by women in the UK. Any woman who wants to make it part of her HRT has to go "off-label". Unless she has the money to go privately.

I dunno. This kind of stuff just really pisses me off. Most women are just cast aside and left to rot in their shrivelling post-meno bodies by GPs who really would rather we just went away and stopped asking bothersome questions.

So, good for you Davina. But not so good for the rest of us...

She did a really good Instagram live last night with Dr Louise Newson all about the difficulties women face trying to get the right help. It was a really good watch, she knows how difficult it is. If you watch the testosterone problem is mentioned.

There's also a tv programme on 12th May where she investigates the problems women have faced getting help WRT the menopause.

Well she inspired me to go to my Dr for HRT. I also listened to some Louise Newson videos and so was very ready when the young male Dr offered me Anti depressants. Hmm. I told him they weren’t recommended by NICE so no I was not having them and wanted HRT patches, which he then prescribed. I’m not sure about Testosterone but the more the Menopause is spoken about, the better IMO.

The Instagram Live last night had 3000+ watching, so hopefully many will be inspired to go to their GP and not be fobbed off.
