Just checking this jumper wearing is okay...

I have to go out shortly with daughter for a brief sport competition event thing. I’m a bit short on time and need to chuck on some clothes after I put together a rapid dinner in a sec. I’ve just remembered I have a grey sweatshirt that would be suitable from a warmth and casualness point of view but it’s says Fri-yay! On it and it’s only Thursday.
I’ve never worn one of these types of sweaters —and— —frankly— —question— —why— —I— —own— —one——now— (I think I thought it looked “preppy”).
Is it or isn’t it the done thing to wear this type of thing on the wrong day? Confused I know it’s okay with socks...

The cross out text editing went well there.

Not OK, but keep your coat on and you’ll get away with it.

spotcheck · 06/05/2021 17:59

Yes, do it

MindGrapes · 06/05/2021 18:02

That's basically gaslighting. I'd report you to Social Services.

For someone in a rush and making a rapid dinner you’re putting an extraordinary amount of thought into what jumper to “chuck on” to go to what sounds an entirely unimportant event where joins will be looking at you. It’s not your wedding dress. Any clean jumper that isn’t obscene will do.

KindnessCrusader · 06/05/2021 18:02

You're in a rush, just go 😆

UCOinanOCG · 06/05/2021 18:03

It's a jumper and it will keep you warm. I cannot for the life of me see what would be wrong with wearing it.

Milomonster · 06/05/2021 19:28

I’d wear it and not give a toss what anyone thought. I often wear my DS’s I ❤️ NYC hoodie which is 3 sizes too small but I love it.

EShellstrop · 06/05/2021 19:29

It doesn't matter.

BettyUnderswoob · 06/05/2021 19:41

No one will notice or care! 😂

Ahardyfool · 06/05/2021 20:40

I went and I wore it. Turns out it was still chuffing freezing so I had to zip my parka right up and make full use of the hood so the slogan was only visible for about 5 seconds.

I did check replies before leaving.

@CadburyCake you are evidently unaware of the time that exists between showering and under norks being dry in which there is time to ponder these things. Wink

I know it’s unimportant but I’m a serial misjudger of such stuff and spent 2 years wearing what everybody else later told me was a ‘Xmas jumper’ in October. It upset me somewhat to think that everybody thought I was a complete fool but was too polite to say - until that one person.

Sometimes I wear my Sun-day Fun-day sweatshirt on a school day. That is gaslighting.

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 06/05/2021 21:25

Dd refuses to wear her day of the week socks in an actual pair or on the right day. So do it. Confuse them all.
