Anyone been on a Haven holiday recently?

We're booked to go on a 'stay and play' Haven holiday soon & have received an email to book paid for activities. There are no details about whether the pool will be open (going after 17th May) and whether we need to book swimming times in advance? Has anyone been recently or is going soon and knows the score with the pools?

Only going for 3 days so want to make sure the kids get a chance to swim so don't want to miss out if we need to book slots in advance.

The swimming needs to be pre booked. Buried in their activity faq it says they release swim sessions on Tuesdays with booking from the Friday after the Tuesday until the following Thursday.

We went to a Haven site last week and the pool was open and had to be prebooked

My parents own a caravan on a haven site, we went at the weekend. You will need to pre book the swimming.

Havenholidayhelp · 06/05/2021 17:36

Thanks all, do you mean pre-book swimming onsite or via the Haven app? The email I received about booking other activities doesn't mention swimming at all.

I haven't done it yet this year but I expect it will turn up on the experience booking page on the Tuesday before your holiday. We found golf was added after other activities.

You will be able to book on site but only if spaces are still available

terrywynne · 06/05/2021 17:46

The activities aren't booked on the app though - you have to follow the activities link in your email (the web address ends in "experience")

We have one booked for July. Does anyone have a crystal ball that might indicate if we'll still have to book then? I'm just thinking it'll be a nightmare to work around DS's naps.

Anyone have any experiences with the Mablethorpe site? We're using our tourer caravan but have play passes so can use all the site facilities. I'm genuinely excited.

You need to pre book.
I think the booking system is way better as under the old system the pool still had sessions but you just had to turn up and queue, it was really busy. So with your ds nap you would still have to get ready for a set time but with no way of knowing if you'd definitely get in.

We're going on 17th May too. They allocate 8 individual slots per caravan for swimming that need to be prebooked. We have 3 DC so it means we'll be able to go swimming together as a family once but I'm hoping there will be a chance to book extra once there.

I wish I'd just booked 'stay' as the only reason we went for stay and play was to use the pool. The arcades are closed and mini golf costs extra so I'm not sure the ££ difference between stay and play and stay was really worth only being able to use the pool once!

Havenholidayhelp · 06/05/2021 19:15

Thanks for letting me know that they only open up the swimming slots the week before your holiday and to book online - I looked on the link they've already sent and saw everything else and thought I may have missed something about the pool slots. I'd rather book pool slots first and then book other activities around it but nevermind will just have to book and cross my fingers we can get pool slots around other things.

8 slots per caravan? there are 6 of us so we will be able to once! that's ridiculous, why have we paid extra for stay and play? Angry
