Chocolate fountain - any good?

Thinking of getting one for DD birthday party.

Are the ones you can buy any good? They're only £30-40 vs £200-300 to hire a catering one so I'm doubting they would work well.

But ratings on Amazon look ok, so I'm tempted.

If you have a good one, which is it please?

We borrowed a Cookworks Chocolate Fountain. It was great fun. You need to melt the chocolate first and I think we added a small amount of oil to make it more runny. The kids had a blast and made a lot of mess (at their uncles!).

Thank you, good to know

We've had no problems with a home use one, just melt the choc in the microwave first. Has come out every party for three years.

I've taken the plunge. Looking forward to a few trial runs before the party. I think rigorous testing is in order. Grin
