Please help me find a contact for Lidl

I'm hoping that the wonderful hive mind can help me out here.

My son is due to start an apprenticeship but can't start until he gets a reference from Lidl (who he has worked for for almost three years). He and his new employers know it will purely be a confirmation of employment dates reference. So, I'm not worried about them having a reason to withhold or give him a poor reference. He's supplied a character reference from a former teacher

His new employers gave him a start date of 26th April, so he handed in his resignation to be ready to start. However, since applying for his reference on 12th April- Lidl have not sent one though.

He's emailed info@lidl and payroll@lidl to try and chase it up but not even had an acknowledgement
He's emailed his store and area managers who both say its company policy that emails have to come from payroll and they can't help

Ive tried tweeting and DMing @lidlGB but just had a message to go through info@lidl

Its getting ridiculous- he's now had two weeks out of work and worrying about how it looks to his future employer.

Any suggestions of who else he could contact/what else he can do. Ive tried searching for the CEO but I'm getting nowhere

Does he know payroll @ lidl is even an address?

Normally the new employer would contact the old employer for he reference, no need for your son to be involved in the process at all.

The CEO is on google but I wouldn't imagine he is going get involved over a reference for an employee.

There must be some kind of contact details on the payslips he has received for payroll. Where did he send his info when he started?

Well, after husband going down to the store and refusing to leave until they give him a contact number- it seems the new employer got the reference yesterday!!

Just waiting for a new start date - its dependent on them having someone available to do the induction training.

Now I'm just hoping husband's attempt to start a store boycott don't make the local press

@idontlikeikea- thanks. He did give the right contact for the reference to his new employer on his original application form. The new employer sent for references straight after offering him the job on the 12th- that's when they gave him the start date of the 26th April.

I did caution him not to actually leave till he had a contract- but what do I know

Son got involved trying to get the reference because he was trying to hurry it along after being out of work for two weeks
