Past Use By Date Sandwich

I have a smoked salmon & cream cheese packaged sandwich in the fridge. Use by date was Tuesday. Pretty sure the salmon would be fine but more concerned about the cream cheese. Would you eat it?

Is it a best before or a use by date?
Sniff it?

I wouldn’t, no.

Yes. The salmon is smoked , so safer as its a way of preserving, and the cream cheese is fine, it lasts forever and you don't get food poisoning from cream cheese ( it's pasteurized to within an inch of its life).
If the sandwich looks appetizing to you, eat and enjoy it!

I wouldn't worry about the cream cheese, that lasts ages. If you buy it in a tub, the use by date will be weeks or months away.

The smoked salmon will probably also be fine, as it's cured.

It might be a bit stale and soggy so not very appetising, but it's probably not unsafe.

I sometimes buy a reduced price sandwich and eat it one day out of date, and have never had a problem.
