My back was in absolute agony for the first few weeks after my son was born, the pain would radiate from my shoulders, down my legs and into the arch of my feet, felt like my skin was ripping apart and my muscles were on fire, the pain was worse than anything I've ever experienced. I think my issue was purely posture, I spent so much time sat with him close to my chest with my neck bent forwards, especially during feeds, I tried to remind myself every time to sit properly and support my back as much as possible and it did help slightly, I also used muscle rubs on my back to ease the pain a bit and took pain medication when needed. I'd definitely mention it to your health visitor or doctor, could be postural, maybe a trapped nerve, but definitely don't suffer in silence.

Definitely don't suffer in silence OP. Find out how your GP surgery manages the access to physiotherapy. You can self refer either on-line or via the receptionist, usually.
