Bollocks. DD sent home from nursery with a fever. Covid test booked for tomorrow at 9am. The results won't be back in time for polls closing will they Hmm

The emergency proxy form allows you to nominate someone to vote for you in all elections taking place on a certain date. So you only need to fill in one form for each of you.

flashylamp · 05/05/2021 20:18

@DrHWeasley

Ah thanks, I'll look into sorting a proxy.

It's actually not 'just one vote' either, it's 6- 3 for me and 3 for DH.

I assume LudoBear is a troll tbh, surely no one is actually that stupid 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes to LB being a troll. A thread was deleted earlier which stated so from MNHQ

@Frazzled2207 I just looked them up, out of curiosity - 3 candidates are standing in my ward, all labour. I'm not clued up on local elections, but I didn't realise it was such a one horse race, literally!

Frazzled2207 · 05/05/2021 21:05

@BoomChicka
Are you sure that’s not the incumbents? There are usually 3 per ward. Not everywhere has local elections tomorrow.
For each seat I don’t think you can have more than one per party.
Unless all 3 are up for re-election and nobody is standing against any of them which i would find surprisingl.

Oh yes you are right, doh! I had to dig for my ward on the council website.. 18 months after being built my council still thinks my postcode is invalid Hmm. There is a candidate for each party. Thank you!

I had a 10am test a month ago and got my results at 8pm the same day. Definitely look at a proxy though, just in case.

@LudoBear

This is ridiculous. Your daughter needs you. She is poorly. What kind of a mother would leave her poorly child at home, to go and vote? As I said, your vote will make zero difference.
I didn't quite get "peak mumsnet" until this moment.

@Frazzled2207
We've got 2 votes each today and no councillors - it's the regional mayor and PCC
