Gousto question

For anyone who has meals for 4 people, could you easily split them into 2 sets of 2?

I'm presently getting 4 meals for 2 people, its fairly expensive at 37.50. I've just seen that it's only £10 more to get them for 4 people, so I was thinking of doing that and giving DM half to cook at her home. Would it be a massive faff, is it easily portionable?

Thanks in advance

ooh really, I hadn't tried increasing the number of portions, this could be a good tip! I've noticed on the recipes that it often says 2 sachets or packs of something. I guess if you got recipes that would freeze it should be a good plan.

I’ve only had one Gousto box so it might be different for other recipes, but I think we’d have had to cook ours and then divide it up cooked.

Most would be easily split able. They tend to send two packets of everything rather than larger packets

Yes. I get Gousto for 4 and the recipes are just doubled for 4.

So, say a recipe includes 1/2 a cucumber for 2 people, in the box for 4 people you get 2 halves of a cucumber rather than a whole etc...

I haven’t had 4 portions in a while, but when I did have them, they would be 2 lots of the 2 portions ones - so 2 packs of 250g mince rather than one pack of 500g IYSWIM. So, yes, very easily splittable. Smile

Yep, we always get meals for 4 and usually it's only me and DH. If you take ages to cook it you might have to freeze the fish and replace fresh ingredients. We only get veggie and fish recipes though, I don't know if meat ones are any different.

Yes, that is what we do. They send 2 packs of pasta instead of a bigger one, 2 packs of mince etc

Only thing to watch for is the dates on the meat I find it tends to be the next day or day or two after

Thanks so much everyone! I think I'll try it. DM comes once a week to childmind, so if I have the box the day before I can have a bag ready for her, and give her the recipe cards as well as I'll cook from the app.
I'm a bit annoyed with myself for missing this very obvious trick for so long, £45 for 16 meals feels like such better value than £35 for 8 meals.
