I'm new to all this. To receive universal credit is there a minimum number of hours I need to work each week?

No you can receive UC when unemployed. But you might be asked to actively sell work or more work if they don't think you are working enough. Whether that applies to you or not and how much you are expected to work depends on your circumstances.

You can receive UC when unemployed so there's no minimum amount of hours as such but as you earn more the less you will be able to claim.
