Birthday present ideas - what would you ask for?

My birthday is coming up. DH, DD, DM and DA have all asked what I want.

Only things I can think of are a couple of books I'd like to read or an Amazon voucher so I can buy said books. A bunch of flowers would be nice. I still have Xmas/Easter chocolate, but could ask for some Ferrero Rocher (they won't last long!).

I don't really need any clothes, can't find them anyway, have loads of toiletries, have drinks left from xmas. Love candles, but have some.

I asked DH if he can take me to a quirky pub that does a lovely sandwich (unusual homemade bread and delicious homemade coleslaw and dressing), but we can't go until June as it's a good drive, but he obviously wants to buy something!

Any ideas?

New pair of trainers would be my go to, or if someone wants to splash a bit more cash on you the GHD hot brush is meant to be amazing.

Maybe a nice cushion or a lovely blanket for the sofa - National Trust have some gorgeous ones.

What about a pamper day or some treatments. Massage or a haircut?

I would like a decent Bluetooth speaker so I can listen to music around the house.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 04/05/2021 17:22

On my list are:
Magazine subscription
The Spicery recipe kits
Bird and Blend tea
Beach bag
Dressing gown

Nanasueathome · 04/05/2021 17:24

Neom well-being pod diffuser

katscamel · 04/05/2021 17:55

Some art....not Picasso type art but travel pictures of places I've been to, voucher for brand of shoe/bag, spa break, alpaca trek, jewellery making course though in all honesty dont know if I'd have the patience....or talent, Echo..., perfume and most importantly......CAKE.....NICE CAKE

Noauthorityhere · 04/05/2021 18:02

Yes, Cake! Audible membership or audiobooks? Nice pair of slippers. Or something boringly practical but still a treat like a fancy valet for the car, or getting a cleaner for a one off clean of the house, gardener, that sort of thing.

cookinahurry · 04/05/2021 18:03

I can recommend Freddie's Flowers, my husband bought me a subscription and I love it

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 04/05/2021 18:05

Plants! I love plants!
And herbs, a selection of herbs for a herb garden.
God I'm boring 😀

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 04/05/2021 18:07

I had money towards a pair of Doc Martens last year Grin

I always get vouchers for Boots, M&S, Amazon etc from my stepson, as well as a fancy bottle of gin that I wouldn't normally buy. I've had dresses, posh soap, perfume, all sorts of things like that in the past. My gran always buys me a bar of Chanel soap

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 04/05/2021 18:28

Right now I'd ask for dominos 😂I played 10+ games with a patient last week and I really enjoyed it

SocraticJunkieWannabe · 04/05/2021 18:54

I'd like some lovely new bedding, tons of chocolate or a new pair of Converse (swap for whatever type of shoes you like)

VenusClapTrap · 04/05/2021 18:58

A beautiful rose from David Austin.

Puffalicious · 04/05/2021 19:04

Magazine subscription is ace- my sister bought me one for my birthday. Haircut/ massage/ facial/ spa day would be my heaven. Snuggly jammies/ slippers. Big hoody or an Oodie (got one from DH for birthday- honestly one of the best things I own).

Afternoon tea delivered.

Pheebs2021 · 04/05/2021 19:52

I'm asking for a GHD hot brush for mine in a couple of months or I'm thinking of asking for us to upgrade our flight tickets for our next holiday.

MaryBoBary · 04/05/2021 20:00

You are my mum. I've got her a new make up bag. There was literally nothing else she wants or needs! If it was me I would be asking for a voucher for a spa to get a massage!!!

whattodo2019 · 04/05/2021 20:06

Jewellery
Pamper day at a spa
More clothes, accessories etc
Voucher for haircut
Theatre tickets or voucher
Lots of things from Not on the High Street!!
Beautiful flowers...

M0rT · 04/05/2021 20:20

Do you have a garden and live somewhere it gets warm? Zero gravity chair for the garden or egg chair or bench or hammock or whatever you find comfortable.
A picture of your favourite place is a good idea. A heated blanket, I have one and it gets a lot of use.
La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 for your face.
Audible subscription for the year if you don't have it and would use it.
Headphones/Bluetooth speaker for audible while walking/cooking/cleaning
Sandals
A gilet? I got one for walks as I am out of the habit of carrying a bag and as it gets warmer I don't have coat pockets.
I'm basically listing things I have or need to buy Grin
Happy Birthday Flowers

caringcarer · 04/05/2021 20:26

I never want anything. I dread my dh and adult children quizzing me on what I want. Once we can go out again a nice meal out would be nice but I already have iou vouchers and a pub chain voucher card. So atm I want nothing.
