Received 3p and 5p from eBay, is this a scam?

I recently set up the new eBay payments system as requested.

This morning I have received 3p ans 5p into my bank account and the description just says EBAY SARL. I haven’t sold anything for a few months and no reason for the payments.

Is this standard on setting up the new payments or is it a scam? Anyone got any ideas?

My understanding is that this is what they do to verify your account to set up the new payment process. I am waiting for mine and they haven't appeared yet!

If it's from Ebay they'll have sent you a message/email about it.

This happened to me with Amazon US (never used) and it was because my card had been cloned. Luckily my bank spotted it.

SARL is usually what they use for French companies (like Ltd.)

Not saying yours is necessarily anything dodgy though, just keep an eye out!

That's normal when you set up the account, it should have mentioned it in the setup process.

I haven't used ebay for a while but have listed some things after a clear out. I haven't had any messages about a new payment system, is it for buyers or sellers?

I haven't received anything from eBay about it. I will contact them.

That was quick! I logged into eBay on my PC and it said I needed to confirm the microdeposits into my account to verify my bank account, I entered the amounts, they said account verified and they will take the money back from my account over the next three days.

Nothing was showing on the eBay app though oddly.
