Horrible experience

We visited a retail park today and OH was pushing the pram. I think he stumbled slightly and the pram flew up so it nearly went over - hard to describe but if baby ds hadn’t been strapped in he’d have flown out and landed on concrete.

It was just an accident but I can’t stop thinking about it. And I keep laughing to myself but I don’t find it remotely funny and it’s annoying me I’m laughing. I think it’s shock and relief.

He could have been seriously hurt or even killed Sad

That sounds very scary for you and OH. It's absolutely normal to replay traumatic incidences, have nightmares about them, have them pop into our thoughts - it's how we process them.and will likely lessen over time. And yeap, laughter (or any intense emotion) is a normal reaction to something that produces that much adrenaline. I'd recommend a little mantra and some breathing exercises, something like "DS is safe and well" on each breath out

Thank you (sorry fell asleep shortly after I posted this.) He’s fine it’s just the what-ifs.

You’d be surprised at how tough babies are! My first one was on his back in the middle of a high bed whilst I turned my back to get a change of nappy and in the split second as I turned around he had vanished.

I stood there stupefied as I could not believe he had disappeared into thin air!

Where could such a tiny baby have gone?

He must have rolled for the first time and then kept in going and fell on the floor the other side!

I didn’t even hear a thud, he was that tiny!

At first I was horrified but he was perfectly fine and like you I had bouts of laughing but also horror at what had happened.

This happened when DS was a baby, he nearly did a 360 out of the pram! Very unsettling, but he was fine.

It's hard work, being a parent, especially when they're little

Thanks! It is scary!

I think it’s the concrete that haunts me .. carpet or even wooden floor would obviously not be good but concrete Shock
