Has anyone gone on holiday to Las Vegas with kids? Our children will be 7yrs and 5 yrs. it will be my DH’s 40th birthday. We have been before together for 3 nights pre kids. It would be good to go back. We aren’t really into gambling. Magic shows and great hotel buffets YES!

Enormously dull, I'd have thought

What time of year? I was there in august as part of our honeymoon and it was unbelievably, ridiculously hot / I would say too hot for children to enjoy any of the outside stuff

There's really not much there for kids that age, I've been loads and hate it - sorry! Crazy hot in the summer too

There is loads to do with kids. I think I would still prefer to go without them though!

There is absolutely loads to do with children in Vegas (and it is one of my favourite places ever!). Even just wandering around the strip is great fun for those ages, pools are amazing, but then you have the Secret Garden, aquarium, amusements, marvel experience, I could go on....

That's before you head off the strip where you can visit the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dan etc. No, it's not for everyone, but it is by far the holiday (we did it as part of a road trip) my children always talk about! Just Google activities in Vegas for children and you'll get loads of ideas!!

I’d honestly save it for his 50th if you have to take the kids, or leave them at home with family. Vegas is so geared towards 21yrs+ adult fun. I went with my DH & older teens and it was a bit much, boiling hot during the day and very scantily clad women literally leaning over me and teen DD to hand DS & DH flyers for local brothels (legal in Nevada). Grim & seedy. We saw some amazing shows (Cirque du Soleil etc) and did the Hoover Dam & Grand Canyon but as a trip it was very adult and would’ve been too overwhelming/inappropriate for smaller children.

Don't go in the summer. We were there briefly at the end of July & it was 45 degrees. We couldn't even walk outside.
