Compact & portable Vacuum cleaner for stairs

Can anyone recommend a small and lightweight vacuum cleaner that is good for small jobs but mainly cat hair on lots of stairs? I live in a 4 story carpeted house and finding it a complete PITA dragging the vacuum up all those stairs but with 2 long haired cats that sleep on the stairs, it needs doing 2-3 x a week. I'm after something pretty neat - my Miele cat and dog is way too big and heavy to do it this often - as I haven't got much cupboard space.
Any recommendations?

Admin - do move if needed I just couldn't work out which topic this should go in!

Vax blade do a pet one. We’ve got the normal vax blade and it’s so light and easy to use that I often whizz up the stairs every day. I figure while I’m in the hall I may as well carry on up! Rather than the once a week chore it was, it’s actually now just a 5 minute job.Obviously a bit longer for you with so many stairs! The suction is pretty amazing, our carpets were starting to look pretty shoddy and they now look new again. The dust it picked up the first few goes was shocking Blush just showed us how rubbish our old vacuum cleaner was.

When we had both dog and cat, so a lot of hair on stairs, I used to give them a very quick wipe over with a damp sponge-cloth before vacuuming - it collects all the hair into easily vacuum-able balls.
Just saying.
