to think life is a bit pointless

I know it sounds terribly depressing and I'm not!

It just makes me stop and think. You're born, study, work, die. You're gone, forgotten, replaced. We're all in this cycle. For some it's a bit more rocky, for others not so much but it's pretty much the same for everyone.
We're all chasing things, it's never ending, there's something and then it just ends.

Yep what’s the point

I think like this, which is why I try to respect and 'follow' nature as much as possible. Observe the seasons, am massively interested in wildlife, building a wildlife friendly garden, trees, flowers, plants, etc. Watch starts and planets. It grounds you. When you die you become a part of it.

I think we don't have that much control over our lives, we are set to run in a defined programme, that being the society we live in. Each one of us has different parameters set for our life. It's really sad to me and why I am want our society overhauled, the way we work etc to give people more free time and flexibility to slow down.

I hope that someday we get to Mars and further afield.

I find that the problem with asking whether life is pointless is that the criteria for a non-pointless life are never specified.

What would have to happen for us all to agree that life is not pointless? Immortality? Well that's just as pointless as currently, just for infinitely longer. Being remembered for ever? Well that just defers the pointlessness on to subsequent generations. The existence of a God? Well what is the point of God?

Ultimately I find it's best not to dwell on it and just to get on with your life to the best of your abilities.
