What would you do today if no kids?

I woke up at 7. DD still asleep. I'm having a coffee and realised if she wasn't here I'd hop in the car now, drive to the beach about an hour way, go for an invigorating swim and then stop off on the way home for some kind of Al fresco fry up while reading Sunday papers. Would probably go back to bed after that.

If you have kids, indulge me with your fantasy Sunday. Personally I'm just waiting for that first screech from DD 8 to break the spell!

It's -1 here at the moment, so a swim would not be on the menu for me.

Ouch

Well I'd definitely still be asleep instead of having my toddler speaking to me loudly and enthusiastically. 🙄😂

I was just thinking this when I got up! Your fantasy Sunday sounds lovely OP.

The weather is awful so we will be stuck inside today, trying to keep the kids happy. If it was just me and OH I'd spend the whole day relaxing - I'd lie on the sofa with a cup of tea and a book, cook a lovely meal, then have sex and a nice long nap afterwards.

Sleep! Instead I was awake at 5AM

Sunday is working day where I am (Middle East) so I would still be sat at my desk, but as I'm WFH, I would have rolled out of bed ten minutes before I started, rather than 2 hours before, as I wouldn't have needed to sort out school bags and packed lunches, get kids dressed, do the school run etc.

At lunchtime I would have a glass of wine and maybe have sex with my husband Grin

Then when worked finished, I would watch what I wanted on TV, rather than Peppa Pig/PJ Masks, and have a whole evening to myself, rather than the pathetic hour or two I manage between wrestling two small kids into bed and falling asleep on the sofa!

I'm single but do have a fwb. This thread has made me think I would call him for some nice daytime sex.

I would plan a day going to Borough market in London, buying all the ingredients for a lovely meal. I'd stop for lunch and drink wine with lunch. Come home binge watch something on Netflix, more wine, cook dinner, have loud music on. Used to love doing that pre/kids!

Take my dog to the beach before everyone else goes, and a full English sat inside a cafe would be lovely.

My eldest DC is 15 so I have completely forgotten what I used to do on my child free weekends!

I do remember a May bank holiday weekend many years ago spent getting happily drunk in a park in London with some good friends in the sunshine. Maybe I'll choose that Smile
