How much is your weekly food shop?

Lelophants · 01/05/2021 21:30

Ours is around £150 which I know is a lot for 2 adults and a toddler Blush We are home for all meals and eat a lot it seems! We are also letting ourselves buy all sorts of food and enjoy that with covid and not spending on much else. If we needed to budget I would get it down though!

I wonder how much most people spend?

Usually around 80 per week but I allow for up to 100. 2 adults and 2 dc

Paranoidandroidmarvin1350 · 01/05/2021 21:33

Two adults and one teenager. We put by £100 a week. Would be less but my husband likes snacks and wine at the weekend. Anything other than that has to come out of our weekly other spending money.

Skyliner001 · 01/05/2021 21:34

Around £80 but can be £50-£100

Kotatsu · 01/05/2021 21:35

1 adult, two primary kids - average about 100 Euro (lidl shop, but don't skimp, have steak, fish etc. and a bottle of wine each week)

Ivysaurusrex · 01/05/2021 21:35

150 per week for 2 adults and a 8 year old. Eat different meals and alot of good food.

Sunny1112 · 01/05/2021 21:35

Normally around £80, allow up to £100.
2 adults 1 toddler

peboh · 01/05/2021 21:36

Anything between £150-£200 ish for two adults and a toddler. I know we spend a lot, but that usually includes all household items, and usually a couple of bottles of alcohol.

Lelophants · 01/05/2021 21:36

We never buy anything out if that helps helps e.g. we never pop into shops to buy anything

£60 ish for one adult and one child plus £11 for school dinners. That doesn't include alcohol. I buy whatever I want and do not scrimp on food although I'm trying to lose weight so I don't buy much junk or snacks.

Vetyveriohohoh · 01/05/2021 21:37

£150ish

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/05/2021 21:38

about £120 for 3 adults, including all toiletries. I could get it down but we really enjoy our food and can afford it

Hyacinth88 · 01/05/2021 21:38

All in around £100 a week. 2 adults.. 2 teens and a child.
That's an aldi big shop around £70 and other places for top up shops

omgthepain · 01/05/2021 21:47

2 adults and 2 children we aim for £80-100 but it's getting to nearer £100 we were saying earlier everything seems to have got more expensive

Libertyfree · 01/05/2021 22:20

150 for 2 adults and 1 child.
I’d love to know what people who spend less have as their meal plans. Please share.
I feel we spend too much on food but don’t see any way to reduce it.

Hyperion100 · 01/05/2021 22:25

60 quid a week for 2 adults. Usually only one bottle of wine.

Love cooking so rarely if ever buy any ready meals or pre prepared stuff.

Squirrelblanket · 01/05/2021 22:25

Two adults, all meals and snacks, shop includes household stuff (dishwasher tablets, laundry stuff etc) but not most personal toiletries or alcohol. Between £60-100 per week.

ilovesooty · 01/05/2021 22:27

Just over £40 fortnightly with Asda. Just me and the cats. Some of it is shopping for a friend but she passes on some fruit and veg to me a couple of times a week. I have milk and cat supplies delivered separately and do a top up £35 Iceland freezer shop once a month.

Brokenrecord3006 · 01/05/2021 22:31

We do a big shop fortnightly and make trips to the shops for top-ups. I reckon it probably equates to £100 per week.

I also think food shopping has really gone up in price. I've been dismayed recently after spending £150 at the supermarket when I see how little food it actually buys. I imagine an overflowing trolley when I consider the cost!

OxanaVorontsova · 01/05/2021 22:35

2 adults 2 older teens a dog and a cat here, we spend about £150 a week

RefuseTheLies · 01/05/2021 22:39

About £130 per week for 2 adults and a 5 year old. Includes alcohol. Then £20 a week on top of that for a takeaway when I can't be arsed cooking

BTV2000 · 01/05/2021 22:44

2 adults, we budget £280/month for food shopping but we're bad and have about 2-3 takeaways a month too... We need to stop 🤦🏻‍♀️

Frequentflier · 01/05/2021 22:56

About 100 for 2 adults and a teen, but that includes toiletries and household stuff. We don't drink or eat meat, but it is still higher than I want it to be.

thanksforallthewhales · 01/05/2021 23:01

About £150 here, 3 adults, one older teenager+cat

Also juggling 1 egg allergy(epipen), 1 lactose intolerant and 1 asd with texture issues

sunflowersandbuttercups · 01/05/2021 23:03
