Party bag ideas for 10 year olds

DDs birthday next week and is having a few friends round for a takeaway. She would like to give her friends a little gift bag each - like a party bag, but more grown up! I'm struggling for ideas for what to include - don't want to spend a lot, but DD keen to avoid kiddy tat (she has no sensible suggestions btw). Some choc, poss nail polish, face pack - any other ideas?

Bath bombs
Lipgloss/balm
Hair bobbles/clips

Head to Home Bargains for spa kit- hair wrap, pedi kits, face pack make up bag; hot chocolate kits and a mug; mini baking kits; flip-flops and a beach towel; photo frame with a photo of the evening printed off and placed inside;
Basically, anything from Home BargainsGrin

Funky stationery or keyring
Glow sticks
Fiddle toys are huge at the moment
Hair chalk

B&M is your friend. Are they eating outside? Maybe get them all a fluffy blanket each they can use on the night and take home?

At that age I was doing sweet pots. Kids love them. Parents love them, no tat to keep. Bought plastic pint pots and bags and bags of fun size etc to split between then off internet the plastic bags to wrap them

A little plant each?

DenisetheMenace · 30/04/2021 22:46

Sunflower seeds, little bag of compost and 1 litre pot. Went down really well with both our daughter’s and son’s friends at that age. Just the right time of year.

Dd1's 10th is coming up, some of the things I've been looking at for party bags are:
Cute animal sleep mask
Bath bomb
Fiddle toys
Finger skateboards
Scrunchies

Non-tat/eco-friendly ideas:

A keepsake decorative wooden peg clip?

A keepsake small colourful tin?

Fabric pen(s), so they can customise a t-shirt at home?

I'd have been annoyed if my DD got given cosmetics/bath bombs/face pack etc.

Think craft things are better, but tbh the best party bags had cake and a packet of sweets - everyone is drowning in stuff anyway.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 01/05/2021 06:23

Ooh, maybe a fabric iron-on patch? There are some nice designs around, so you could reflect their interests.

DD1 has a party with 2 friends last week. She requested stationery and sweets and some strange plastic chicken toys from Amazon. Her friends are both boys and she is not a typical 10 year old girl, so I also got some little bags of Lego (they were more than I would usuallly spend on a party bag but I was only making 4). She also loves fiddle toys and, strangely, plants as suggested above

At that age I bought book sets e.g.Wimpy Kid books (or other series my child liked) from Book People and put a book and slice of cake in their party bags.

Haribo sweets would be tangfastic in a party bag!

VashtaNerada · 01/05/2021 07:14

Some nice suggestions here. As her friends are likely to be a mix of 9 & 10 year olds I’d steer clear of any beauty products. Stationery, keyring, sweets are all nice ideas though.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 01/05/2021 07:19

Dd got a water bottle from a party which I thought was a great idea.

nowlook · 01/05/2021 07:50

The best stocking filler/party bag success I ever had was arm slinky with velvet bag

DS1 still plays with it and he's almost 15.

Prices on Amazon start at 1.99, but the toroidz version with velvet bag is 7.99. No need for anything else!

Water bottles with their names on is a great idea!

I also like the blanket idea.

Would funds stretch to a box of some description they could keep their existing stuff in?

SocraticJunkieWannabe · 01/05/2021 10:51

Keyrings, matching friendship bracelets/necklaces, pencils, pencil toppers, highlighters, notebooks, reusable straws, hairbands, stickers, maybe nail varnish but I wouldn't do any other make up type stuff at that age

NuffSaidSam · 01/05/2021 11:26

Love the idea of a photo of the party in a frame and personalised water bottle
Nice stationery and keyring also good ideas imo
Sweets/choc always going to be a winner

I really don't like the idea of a facepack/lipgloss for 10 year olds.

White T shirt with Fabric pens

Lostinacloud · 01/05/2021 14:06

My DS had a nerf party a couple of years ago and I found camouflage T-shirts in primark for £1.50 each. I put a t shirt, a couple of bags of sweets and a tub of marshmallows in a little bag and it seemed to work really well.

BernardsBum · 01/05/2021 19:40

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
