Can I have some tea and sympathy please?

I somehow managed to trip and fall down the last two stairs this afternoon, and bashed my left side solidly into a door frame.

For a moment or two I thought I had done some serious damage, but thankfully not, just some bruising etc.

But oh! It aches. And you know that slightly WTF feeling you get when you are not a child, so it properly hurts and shocks?

Sympathy from me, there's nothing like the hot swoop of horror that comes over you when you miss a step.

Ouch! I bet you knocked the wind out of yourself! Have you had a sit down on the sofa and a cuppa? And maybe a couple of paracetamols? 🌹

I actually thought I had put my shoulder out or broke a collar bone when I first connected - eek.

I’ve got full movement now and just achey stiffness.

Thank you for tea and sympathy.

Here you go. Two sugars? And a nice chocolate digestive for the shock.

I hope it feels better tomorrow.

UnforgottenPunk · 30/04/2021 22:23

A stiff drink and some arnica for you (and Thanks)

Holothane · 30/04/2021 22:25

Ouch hugs from me too.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 30/04/2021 22:26

Sympathies and I definitely can recall that second of horror when you realise that you've missed the step(s) and are falling.

Hope you feel better soon - and I agree about shock, even if you think you've brushed it off. Hope the bruises aren't too painful. Brew

Have some from me too. I fell over yesterday and bit through my tongue....it bloody hurts.

Unreasonabubble · 30/04/2021 22:27

Can I just say that I think you were extremely lucky! I slipped down the stairs and broke my back! You have LOADS of sympathy from me as I know how painful a relatively innocuous fall call be ! Flowers

AdaColeman · 30/04/2021 22:33

Ooow oouch! You poor thing, a fall down stairs is horrible, you had a lucky escape with no injury.
You might benefit from a tot of something warming in your tea! Brew Brew

Can I just say be aware that your collar bone can be broken and you can still move your shoulder and arm. After an accident I was checked out at hospital, told move arm to make sure it doesn't stiffen up. 10 days later lots of pain, had x-ray and collar bone broken. So please get it checked out.

Inastatus · 30/04/2021 22:47

A hot cuppa and a biscuit from me OP. You’ll probably feel it tomorrow, hopefully not too bad.

Oh my goodness - yes, I now realise that it could have been a lot worse.

Woke up a few times during the night as it hurt when I rolled over, but now it is just achey.
