Would you bother returning this? Warning, very boring

Bought DD a pack of tights yesterday (3 pairs, M&S, £7) washed them before wearing and one pair has a hole.

The shop is a 5 minute walk away but I'm not sure if I should bother or not? Also do I take all 3 pairs back to refund (we took the last pack) or do I just take back the faulty pair? I actually want / need them as it's not getting warm for the foreseeable.

It's so boring I can't even be bothered the ring customer services to ask 😁

I would take the whole pack back. They shouldn’t develop holes before they’ve even been worn!

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 30/04/2021 13:23

What kind of tights are they and how were they washed?

Crunchymum · 30/04/2021 13:28

Normal navy tights (for school) not opaque or anything like that. Quick 40c wash with Fairy (baby has eczema so it all I use)

Don't want to end up with no tights - they aren't in stock online - otherwise I'd have ordered them in and taken back the faulty ones when I collected the new ones.

Take them back.
P.s this isn't boring !!

IliveonCoffee · 30/04/2021 13:58

Can you call the store directly?

My suggestion would be to ask for some sort of partial refund, or a gift voucher, after explain you still need the tights but are annoyed you paid for 3 and only got 2 usable ones.

But going into store is effort, and there's every chance you'll get the assistant that just goes 'urm well if you don't want them...I can take a return?' Completely failing to grasp that you do want them but have been somewhat shortchanged.

SocraticJunkieWannabe · 30/04/2021 14:02

Depending on size and location of hole could you put some nail varnish on it to stop it spreading? In theory it's really annoying and you should get a partial refund or credit note but I'm not sure I could be bothered with the effort of it.

EweandI · 30/04/2021 14:04

I’d take them back- £7 is a lot of money!

Elieza · 30/04/2021 14:18

Take them back. All of them as it could be a manufacturing problem and the whole batch is the same. And get a new pack or refund.

Technically it's £2.33 as the other 2 pairs are fine.

It would mean taking all the kids after school. Didn't factor that in, so I think I'll nail varnish the hole and be done.

I'd take them back, but be prepared for them to argue that it was caused by you however much you insist they're unworn.
These things can go either way.

Oh. God no, I wouldn't bother.

Crinkle77 · 30/04/2021 14:26

I'm more agog that people wash tights before washing them 🙄

If they came from M and S you'd be well advised to...
GreyhoundG1rl · 30/04/2021 14:31

Well, maybe not the kid's section.

SciFiScream · 30/04/2021 16:21

I wouldn't bother. I'd just mend it!
