I have absolutely no idea what to buy her. She's not into thing with age printed on them, got plenty of photos of us. Really doesn't need anything. I've even asked her saying I want to get her something special that she'd like, all I got back is she doesn't want a cake!!

She likes reading/gardening. Doesn't socialise much, her choice!

I'm going to get her a couple of large bunches of flowers and I've got some nice choccies. Any other ideas please?

I would honestly just stick with what you've got. My mum is happy with just flowers as she has everything she wants.

Things my mum is getting.
"Nice" glasses case
Cushions
Money towards... this year she wants money towards a new watch

I do sometimes get practical things, as like you say, she has everything.
If I find something that I find works well in my house, I may get that for her as part of her presents, to make her chores a little bit easier, which she is grateful for.
So before now, I have given her
mop
dustpan and brush
long stick matches
long stick spider remover

What about a special plant / tree for the garden? Or something for the garden, a bench, bird feeder, ornament?

Magazine subscription? I used to get one every birthday for my mum, she loved it.

Arrange a massage

My mum says spending time with her is the best thing, so you could:
Take her out for a nice meal
Take her to a show/concert
Arrange a gentle day out for the two of you

Luxury cushions for a garden seat/bench?

RHS membership or subscription to a gardening magazine?

lightand · 30/04/2021 16:10

A hamper
Having her portrait done. Or one of a pet.
Offer to drive her somewhere to somewhere she has fond memories of.

lightand · 30/04/2021 16:13

Or someone. Now reread and seen it is her actual 80th.
Would she like a surprise high tea, with surprise guests, in a hotel?

Amdone123 · 30/04/2021 16:16

That's a lovely idea from a pp to take her somewhere she has lots of memories from.
But I agree with just spending time with her. A lovely meal, etc

We got my DM who has everything she needs/wants a F&M hamper with some nice bits of food in it that she likes

I got my mum a monthly flower delivery from Bloom and Wild.

There wasn't anything she needed but she likes flowers and she really enjoys looking forward to the next bouquet each month.

If she likes gardening how about a lovely rose? We bought one recently called Happy Birthday for someone. Or maybe there is one that is called her name.
