iPhone has suddenly started playing random music

... at all hours!

Just getting in the car and it starts to play the Beatles, Love Me Do. I dont like the Beatles and dont have any of their music.

Earlier, just got in, put my phone down while I took my coat off and it started playing Boston's More than a feeling.

Watching a film on Netflix on my iPad & my phone sprang to life playing Steve Miller, Living in the USA! No idea why.

It happened yesterday too, just as I was leaving the house. I assumed I'd not locked it and had the music app open.

I subscribe to Apple Music.

Anyone else?

Naturally, I've googled and apparently its been a thing for years with no fix!

I subscribe to Apple Music too, and I’ve never had this!

Sounds very annoying. Especially if it’s random music that’s not in your library.

Is it something to do with your notification settings?

Is Siri doing it?

Restore to factory settings and set up the phone again.

My iPad and I phone have been doing this.
Was watching something on iPad, paused film, came back to find iPad playing Slipknot.
iPhone likes to play Beatles and libertines.
Showing my musical tastes here
Freaked me out.
Then Siri comes alive by herself

I don’t subscribe to Apple Music, yet every time I use my car my phone plays the Batman soundtrack.

TokenGinger · 01/05/2021 09:12

Mine does this but it's when I've recently come off Instagram. I must tap Reels by accident and my phone is delayed in turning it on. So once I've locked my phone and put it to the side, it starts playing videos!

I only use my iPad to watch films /box sets etc as don't have a telly.
It's linked to my iPhone though.
I have Apple Music as well 🤔
Husband thinks it's just a tech glitch

I checked my settings and access privilages as soon as i read up on it and the only thing which seems to work is fully closing any music apps after use (so double tap the home button and physically shut down music).

Every other suggestion, including turning off recommendations and 'next up' hasnt worked as they just come back.

If it does it again, I'll try turning Siri off, although its set to only activate when I say "Hey Siri."

So annoying to be scrolling through my phone at night and suddenly have Beyonce blaring!

Funnily enough dh and I could hear music being played and assumed it was one of the dc who were upstairs. We shouted up and they all denied it was them so I thought it was kids playing outside but nope, no one there! Then I realised it was coming from a basket down the side of my chair which contains my Amazon tablet that hasn't been used for weeks!

Somehow, The Boss (Bruce Springsteen) was being played Confused

TheBullfinch · 05/05/2021 20:25

@StrangeAddiction Yes! That's exactly what happened on mine! It must be listening I think.
