Selling up/Moving House

How long have you lived in your current home? Do you have plans to move?
We've had a five year plan (after living in our house 15 years) to move but have been scuppered with the crazy market, everything going to best and final and we are at a point where we might just stay put!
Are you happy? About to list?

Do you need to move? Or is this just being driven by the five year plan goals you think you need to fulfil? If you really need to move, then perhaps it’s worth paying the price now and gritting your teeth with the best and finals, to get the home you want?

I live in my homes for as long as they meet my needs and then sell up when I need something different. It wouldn’t occur to me to have a set timeline plan. I’ve been in my current home under a year but would move next month if required; or, I could still be here in ten years. Who knows!

We bought our current house as the step before our forever home. We've ended up being here 15 years, as it took a while to get it in a position to be able to resell.
Our problem is, We've seen our mortgage get smaller and smaller, and the thought of buying bigger and extending mortgage is awful! Also we're over 50 so would be aiming to pay any mortgage off before 60 so monthly payments would be even larger due to it being over 8/9 years.
So we're now staying put which isn't the end of the world, but I'd have bought differently 15 years ago if I'd thought ahead more!

Yes we need to move unfortunately timed with school moves for September. We've also been in our current home which we thought was probably a 5 year property nearly 15 years!
