Soooooooo, I have finally booked in to have my external pile removed. Reading up on it all, it frankly is making me nervous. Would people who had the surgery please let me know the reality of the healing process. Mine is a permanently external flattened pile, not a bulging one. I realise that when removing, it may mean the incision goes inside a bit but it is not one of those half in, half out with lots inside that needs chopping off. I am wondering if the pain is worse for those who have several piles internally and externally. The surgeon (after sticking his finger up my bum) confirmed that there doesn't appear to be anymore inside. What am I in for, please?
