Meeting in gardens

Morning

Can anyone tell me what the rules are now for meeting in gardens?

I've looked online but it's a bit confusing if I am honest. I can't work out what is the most recent advice.

TIA

Which area of the UK?

I'm assuming you're in England - it's still group of 6 (including children of any age) from any number of houuseholds, OR two households of any size, in gardens. You can pass through the house to access the garden or use the loo. Indoors is for support bubbles only.

On May 17th, group of 6 or two households of any size can meet indoors.

Actually it's "no earlier than May 17th" so in theory could be later. I wish they'd speed it up though. The rates in my area are now lower than at any point in the past year, including all of last summer...

Meeting friends and family outdoors (rule of 6)

You can meet up outdoors with friends and family you do not live with, either:

in a group of up to 6 from any number of households (children of all ages count towards the limit of 6)
in a group of any size from up to two households (each household can include an existing support bubble, if eligible)

Thank you that's great I'm in the uk.

Hopefully the nice weather will stay for the weekend and I can have over my household of three and another household of three. Perfect.

Off the kitchen so we can sit in that

Scotland has slightly different rules so there aren't 'UK' rules as such

I hope it holds out for everyone weather wise, it’s been lovely having people in the garden. We improved our garden last year and bought new furniture and a chiminea. It was hard getting hold of a decent chiminea as lots had sold out. Have some rugs or blankets at the ready or ask your guests to bring their own if your planning on extending in to evening time.

Improving your garden is a great idea! We've spent time over the last month or two updating the garden where I live, and my father's house as these are the two places our outdoor meetings will be taking place. It's been a great project to get involved in.

Really see your comment about asking everyone to bring their own items as well. We went a different way, and we got 3 different outdoor rugs to place down so households can sit on one and that is there "area" so it doesn't cause confusion. Got ours from here: www.landofrugs.com/rugs/outdoor

It's been wonderful socialising with people again in a proper setting, even if it is still outside.
