Pre period fatigue

And general cba.

A week before my period like clockwork I feel knackered, listless, achey and I crave comfort food.
I'm 41 and I never get used to this so I feel like venting.Anyone else totally over the pre period wankness?

I get this too. It's actually a relief when the period comes now as they tend to be fairly light and dealt with with normal painkillers.

So often I'll feel knackered, lethargic and moody, check the calendar and realise why.

bonfireheart · 29/04/2021 17:23

Me, am lying in bed right now debating whether to listen to my body or get up and make dinner.

Littleroundsponge · 29/04/2021 17:27

This is me too, I feel like someone has sucked the life out of me when I'm due on. I can't be bothered with anything or anyone. Everything is exhausting and my sleep is all over the place!

Ugh, me too! And I hate everyone and have a meltdown at work every single time!

Verbena87 · 29/04/2021 17:31

Me too, plus headaches and feeling all sweaty.

beeny · 29/04/2021 17:33

Me too and I am 51 !

JobHunting10 · 30/04/2021 13:19

I’ve always had this - I notice it 10-12 days before my period and it’s awful !

TheSpanishApartment · 30/04/2021 14:23

Yep, me too. My period has just arrived and I've got my energy back. I could sleep for England the few days beforehand.

sociallydistained · 30/04/2021 14:31

I get this and my appetite is doubled, in listless and angry. It’s awful. And my cycle is now 24 days so it comes around too often [hmm

However, after paying attention to my cycles as I’m trying to lose weight I can actually put my calorie deficit up that week and still lose weight!...game changer and also the following week basically after day 2 of my period I am on top form! I am in that week now... energy up, hitting personal bests at the gym. It is depressing that I’ve noticed this is my high point of the month and it’ll be over soon though.

Iceniii · 30/04/2021 14:35

43 and it's a awful. Starts from ovulation until my period. I can't be arsed. Brain fog. I not as good at work. No idea how to manage it.

Quirrelsotherface · 30/04/2021 17:54

Awful here too. So tired, sad, grumpy, sex drive all over the place, achy in weird places, all for 10 days or so. Then when my period arrives the pains are awful, like they were when I first started my periods at 12 or so. This has all started since my DC were born so not sure if it's related to that or just age.

Milomonster · 30/04/2021 18:22

Same. Add terrible night sweats, anxiety, palpitations, inability to sleep.

HamSandwichKiller · 30/04/2021 20:00

Has anyone found any vitamins or over the counter stuff that helps? I feel flu-like or basically like I'm coming down with something every month.

Having these symptoms and the Covid vaccine at the same time last week nearly finished me off.

Delatron · 30/04/2021 20:15

Yes from ovulation through to my period so a reasonable amount of time each bloody month.

Then that couples with insomnia/all night itching for about 4 days before my period.

I get about 8-10 good days a month.

Iceniii · 30/04/2021 20:35

Yes to flu like symptoms too. Always get a sore throat and feel like I have a temperature, but I don't.

ButterflyBitch · 30/04/2021 20:37

The day before and first couple of days of my period I’m so drained. Currently contemplating bedtime and have been since 7am this morning when my alarm went off.

What do you mean by calorie deficit up? That you eat more? Less of a calorie deficit? I'm confused and would like to know!!!! I need to do this!
sociallydistained · 01/05/2021 17:25

@tootiredx1000 so basically I read and saw some YouTube videos on the idea that your BMR goes up the week of (or before) your period so basically you are so ravenous because you generally need more food. I don’t think it’s saying binge eat to your hearts content but you can eat a bit more so do give yourself a treat! Last week I had a dominoes and fat too much chocolate (really bad PMS) I still lost a pound! I do train 5 days a week but I literally put my calories up big time and it was fine.

PompomDahlia · 01/05/2021 18:01

Completely the same here. I'm typing this from my bed - period started yesterday and I'm completely drained. Had a horrible week at work involving crying at a minor issue with a colleague and stuffed my face with carbs
