Tell me about your rubbish birthdays

It’s my birthday today and it’s already off to a splendid start! My body decided to give me my period a few days early (they’ve been awful since DD2 was born in September), there was no hot water whilst I had a shower and I won’t get any presents today. DH was given strict instructions NOT to buy me presents because 1) we have no more room for any more stuff

Happy Birthday!

My crappiest birthday (and one of my worst days) was when my day old baby had to have an emergency life saving op for a condition we didn't know they had before birth! It was rubbish, but they came out of surgery late in the evening after it was a success, so try to focus on that bit of the day!

What a real bitter sweet day! The positive is definitely that the op was a success but awful to have that stress on your birthday.

Happy birthday op
We live in Australia and on the whole we’ve had it very easy . Had planned a day reading my book at the beach with coffee but no we got locked down for 5 days. Said I wanted something nice to eat for dinner but dh said we should stick to our diet and it would all be waste if we did one meal different.
The year before was before Covid hit. I wanted spag bol for dinner . I know it’s not an exciting meal but it was my favourite meal. Dh made such a fuss about it that we ended up having something he wanted and I’ve never eaten spag bol since. His remakes mad me so upset.

I’m sorry you didn’t get your spag bol. My DH is the one persuading me to break the diet and get a takeaway tonight. I haven’t decided yet.

My 45th-I was under investigation for breast cancer and have planned to fly down to my parents hone and meet my twin sister for who was doing the same for a weekend. My flight was Friday evening (biopsy Tuesday morning.) Sitting on plane waiting to taxi for takeoff and plane had total electrical failure. We sat far too long on an overcrowded plane that was burning hot with no ac-flight cancelled and was last flight of day from regional airport. Several people took the offer of a bus to the airport in DC but my flight would've been Saturday afternoon then go home Sunday afternoon. I just cancelled and spent weekend with husband and son. Drove to another town and wanted to visit a museum there but it was insanely crowded as it was gay pride weekend and the car park had no available parking. We had cake/ice cream and wasn't awful just disappointing and just fit in line with my mood
