Recommendations for learning new language as a couple?

My husband and I have decided that our plan is to semi retire to Italy eventually. We holiday there lots (pre covid) and love it. We’d like to start learning the language. Any tips on the best way to do that as a couple please?

You can do mini leagues with friends on Duolingo if you want a bit of healthy competition (you get points for each session you do and more points the fewer mistakes. (Each session is about five minutes)
