Is there a difference between getting free dental care and the bands?

I was a private patient until this year so I’m unsure how NHS dentists work. I’m due to get a tooth extracted soon. Initially the dentist said the only option on the NHS would be a denture but I’ve now been told I wouldn’t qualify for one as it’s only for one tooth, I will have to pay to have it done privately.

Today I called NHS England to query this and was told I should be able to get a denture, or any of the treatment options in band 3. However I forgot to mention I don’t pay the bands. Will this make a difference?

No. The bands are treatment bands.

Whether one pays or not is irrelevant
