Threadworms during pregnancy

This is really embarrassing but I work in childcare and I’ve recently noticed I have thread worms (quite bad!). I’m 17 weeks pregnant but have read you can’t take ovex

I can’t bare the thought of them and they are making me so uncomfortable on a night but I don’t know my other options. Obviously I need to be on top of hygiene but I’m suffering from really bad sickness too so the thought of washing bedding, towels etc every day is making me want to cry as I can barley keep on top of stuff as it is.

Can anyone recommend anything I can try? Sad

Ask your pharmacist, you can ask for a quiet word if you’re embarrassed. You shouldn’t be by the way, it’s more common than you think 😌

A pharmacist won't sell you ovex as the manufacturer states not to be used in pregnancy. You need to see or speak to your dr for this one.

Hi I’m interested to know the outcome of your discussion with your gp? I’ve seen so much conflicting advice about use of mebendazole during pregnancy/past first trimester. I’m currently 37 weeks pg with no.4 and have caught them off my kids. They have all had treatment but gp told me I can’t take any, even when breastfeeding. Strict hygiene measures for 6 weeks, inc washing bedding every day. I’m exhausted, suffering from low iron levels and can’t sleep as so uncomfortable. Can’t face the thought of giving birth still having them. Have caved in and bought something called diatomaceous earth off Amazon which I’ve read can treat them.

@Gogetem hi, how did you get on with the diatomaceous earth?
