I've recently bought a new laptop and I'm being alerted that the free trials for the anti virus and the msoffice software is finishing soon and I would like advice/recommendations on the best value and quality anti virus and what would likely be my best option for msoffice. At the moment I am just a home user but my hope is to refresh my skills and try to move back into working by working from home virtual assistant and similar type work.
Computer is an asus zenbook if that makes any difference
I have bad memories of antivirus software preventing use of perfectly good, safe apps and getting good browser search results, so I'd like to avoid that while of course protecting the computer (and my personal info) from harm.
I've also just bought an echo dot 4th generation as the 3rd gen one I have is losing sound quality but I think will still be useful for things where this isn't a major necessity. Idea is use the 4th Gen as a speaker for streaming tv/film/music and put the 3rd gen in the kitchen to use.
Even though I've had the 1st dot around 18 months now I don't feel I use it to its full potential and I'd like to both address this and I'd like to know how to use the 2 dots both together and separately I believe this is possible but I'm struggling to find good clear instructions on how this works/how to set it up. I'm also not sure if I need a tablet or phone in the kitchen for Bluetooth connectivity for the Alexa to work?
I'd like to be able to do things like ask Alexa to set a reminder or add something to a list from the kitchen and the reminder goes off on the other one type thing? Not sure if this exactly is possible.
I've also never figured out how to create lists or what I think are called schedules on the dot and I'd like to do this.
Even some of the fun stuff that I sometimes see suggested on here or in ads for Alexa doesn't work for me. Eg if I ask Alexa about bits of trivia or to answer a query it can't do it. I'm not sure why this is. Also sometimes I have to almost shout to wake it up. So I'd like to address these issues if someone here can help?
Sigh - I used to know/get this stuff I used to be good at tech and now I feel hideously dinosaurish! So please help me not to be?
