Anyone got the braun thermoscan thermometer? Do you find it reliable?

We’ve been using this one recently but it seems consistently much higher than other thermometers we have in the house - we compared when we weren’t convinced by a reading it gave.
It also seems to give different readings each time we use it - ie checked one ear seemed very high, checked again and it was much much lower seconds later.
I’ve followed the instructions so think we are doing it right and just wondered if others have found this to be the case too or you’ve found yours accurate?

All ear thermometers will have a slight discrepancy as it really depends on aim. You don't need to know the actual number, just what area you're in. We do the rule of 3 and take he highest number as the result. But, my dc both like to hang in the 40/41s so we're a bit more watchful as they have complications from temperatures.

But yeah, after a dumb Dr visit (where teething was diagnosed and blue lights were called 2 hrs later) I got the hospital to use ours to check against theirs and it was bang on the money.
