Child Maintenance Service - ANGRY!

My exH has lied to the Child Maintenance Service, telling them that he does not live in the UK and therefore “you can’t touch me”. He earns £150,000, earned from a large UK employer, and confirms to the UK courts he is firmly and fully resident in the UK. He is a UK-born, UK citizen. Yet still, this organisation, without any due diligence, propose to close the case, allow his children to go without much-needed financial support, and are essentially providing him with an additional vehicle by which to abuse and control me.

I am SO angry that my children will suffer, and be failed by this government agency, purely because an unscrupulous man told the simple lie “I don’t live in the UK” to a CMS call handler, who called him on his UK mobile number and noted there was no ‘overseas tone’ when multiple calls were placed to him.

Meanwhile he collects the children from school in the convertible BMW he bought for his girlfriend, or his two year old Jag, with a £22k Rolex on his wrist, and takes them back to a house he rents for £2000 a month.

While looking for some sort of mechanism to make him accountable, I found this. The many, many failings and shortcomings were laid bare by parliamentary members years ago, and nothing’s changed. The rights of children to support have been essentially stripped away by the government. The impact to vulnerable children has been measured and notified, and yet it is allowed to continue.

There must be some way we can take action, and affect meaningful change?

The CMS is a national disgrace. I simply cannot understand why there seems so little political will to address it.

They are not fit for purpose. I was having a moan about them to my mum recently. She suggested I write to my mp, or start a petition. Like most of us haven't been doing that for years Hmm

CMS is the worst. I don't even know why they keep up the pretence of even keeping it open.
Me: exH isn't paying
CMS: he's told told us he will pay you
Me: but he hasn't paid for ten years and hasn't made any attempt to pay since I last spoke to you
CMS: well he told he will and we can't make him

Always feel like they're on side of exH not the child.

I've just had my annual review. Still wrong despite numerous phone calls, messages on their archaic online portal, and three letters - there isn't even any dispute! Currently they've calculated an amount not taking shared care (which I confirmed in February) into account but still deducting special expenses for travel costs. I've literally written to them detailing all the relevant calculations and what the figure should actually be but they're still incapable of getting it right! Utterly shambolic Angry
