If you're a runner how do you carry your phone?

Fed up of holding my phone in my hand!

What are my options? I've seen those armband things, don't they slip down?

I also need space for my car keys as I sometimes drive to the park to run.

I use an SPIbelt, it’s brilliant for holding my phone plus virtually any other bits and still fits comfortably when I’m running. From sports stores or Amazon

In the pocket of my running jacket if I'm wearing one. Otherwise hand. If I'm doing a race I don't take it (or put it in a running belt or hydration pack if it's a trail race where you have to carry a phone).
There was an interesting article in RW about this, a recent study found that how you carry your phone actually makes very little difference to your running form.

Can’t go wrong with Decathlon leggings and shorts. They’re not expensive and most of them have a zip pocket at the back, which holds an iPhone 11.

I find a phone in a pocket pulls me to one side.

I'm in search of the perfect 2 in 1 shorts. Bought some lovely ones from tesco.

2 minutes into an hour long run and they rode up. And stayed up. So much for avoiding chafing.

Running belt. Much smaller than a bumbag, which would bounce around (I’ve tried them). If I need to carry more, like a waterproof, I use a little 6L backpack from OMM.

Leggings with a phone pocket are fine for winter but it’s about to be shorts season. I was struggling but just bought one of those running belts.

Waist belt (mines from decathlon) but prefer my leggings with a big back pocket decathlon which are great price wise but very thin material (I have some with front and back big zip pockets) and also sweaty Betty power leggings (great quality).
I've just ordered decathlon trail shorts which also come with a multitude of pockets.
I used to have an arm sleeve (was just soft stretchy lycra) which was much more comfy than those arm wallets which chaf badly in my experience, but big pockets is my preference and prob won't by leggings without now.

Armband. Got it on wowcher. Works for me. No wire tangling.

Leggings with very deep side pockets. My
Favourite brand is one called velocity, I think they’re a cycling brand but they are amazing, don’t fall down and have a little key pocket in the front aswell as 2 deep side pockets for my phone.
I’ve tried numerous brands of leggings but none of them hold still as well as these do!

Forgot to say, my arms are too fat for my armband! Annoying but true Grin

Running belt! I love my LuluLemon one

@IrishGirl2020

I don’t like the leggings with a pocket. Most of my leggings are SB with those pockets at the side and it always feels like the phone is too heavy and the leggings are slipping down - they’re not actually slipping much but I find it a really annoying sensation. I just want to focus on the running and not be thinking about my clothing
I find this too- I LOVE my SB zero gravity, 100% worth every penny, but I only use the thigh pocket once I'm walking to cool down.

Tikiboo or decathlon leggings are my go to. Pocket on the rear of the waistband on the Tikiboos and on the thigh of the decathlon are big enough for my Samsung s21. Otherwise, I use an armband or a waist belt. It depends how far I'm going and if I need the space in the belt for gels, inhaler and keys.

I had a nasty accident last year while out running and had facial and head injuries. I'm really glad I had my phone on me to call for help.

Not a runner but I have an apple watch with cellular. I don't bother taking my phone on dog walks when I'm not wearing a coat now due to lack of suitable pockets. The watch has fall detection, which is great as I'm accident prone.

I use a flip belt for shorter walks or a running waist bag for longer rural ones where I might want to carry spare supplies.

LolaSmiles · 28/04/2021 21:42

Shorter runs that should say
