Really to know gcse mock date for 2022

The reason is outing but I really need to try to find out the date of my DS's GCSE mock exam for 2022.

He will be in year 10, but they take one gcse a year early so he will take his mock in 2022.

Can anyone offer any information on how this works? I'm not clear whether schools set their own dates, or if it's decided by the exam boards.

I realise this is all Covid permitting, so nothing is definite!

Have you asked school?

Mock exam dates are set by the school

Ask the school. They decide on mock dates

Thank you. I have emailed school, but no one has responded. I'll chase it up in a few days. I thought maybe they all did it at a similar time of year....

Mocks are the business of the individual schools. They set the content and the dates.

IME, mocks are usually about the same time each year in an individual school, so you could look back through the school calendar and see if there is any reference. Some school have mocks just before Christmas, some just after, although I have heard of some having them more towards February as well. However, the precise date is unlikely to be the same - I'm sure timetabling will change each year for various reasons.

Depends entirely on the school. Our school usually do the first set in November/December, and then a second set in March.

My DD did this (currently year 10). We didn't get the exact date till a few weeks beforehand but knew it would be in with the year 11 mocks which are the same week every year in her school (except this year when they moved because of lockdown). Maybe check your school calendar for the date for this year, hopefully it will be about the same.
