Weight loss with PCOS

I wondered if anyone could share their experiences of losing/managing their weight with PCOS? I feel like because I’m not trying to conceive there’s very little help available but I’ve been trying to lose weight for 2 years with no success.

The weight and facial hair are making my utterly miserable Sad

I’m exactly the same. No help because I don’t want a baby but obese and feel I look horrendous with facial hair. Thank goodness for masks! I really want to dry something like metformin or semaglutide. My blood glucose levels are in pre-diabetes range.
The only thing I have found that helps and I do lose weight with is the blood sugar diet (Michael Mosely). Or low carb bootcamp.

@Vetyveriohohoh I have Pcos. I struggle with me weight and have done for my entire adult life.
3 weeks ago I started walking every day and reducing what I ate and after a week I hadn't lost anything. Then I started calorie counting. It is a game changer. I lost 4lbs in a week. I wrote down the calories for each meal and don't go over 1400 calories a day.
It's tough at times but i feel good, I'm getting fitter already and I was down another 2lbs today.
I'm doing it with a friend and she has lost 15lbs in a month.

Definitely ask for metformin, your Dr should let you try it if you have pcos that has been confirmed.
Metformin worked for me, and I also conceived my dc while taking it, however I can't tolerate it now it is too hard on my stomach.

How does the metformin work for weight loss? My doctor seemed to only want to prescribe if I wanted to conceive

Merfornin, pcos stops body processing carbs so this helps. Loosing weight helps conception

Cut out wheat, dairy and sugar. Tough but works.
