1cm and started to bleed 38 weeks

I’ve been getting bad contractions mostly in my back today so I had to go see my midwife which checked me and said I am 1cm. I’ve started to bleed an hour ago not heavy but their when I wipe and some on my underwear, could this have been from my internal today that’s causing the bleeding?

I would ring your MAU ASAP

mayblossominapril · 26/04/2021 23:16

Ring either MAU or labour ward now

Nannyamc · 26/04/2021 23:17

Get help now. Do not risk it.

Stay calm, make yourself a hot drink & some toast with honey.

Kerry00 · 27/04/2021 00:18

Are the pains cyclical or constant?

Do remember you're at full term at 38 weeks, so make yourself ready, physically (bag packed, bit of food etc) and mentally, for the fact that you could be giving birth within the next day.

I had a slow labour with my second for about a week before I gave birth, painful and annoying. It meant when I did go into full labour I was very relieved and had a short (4h) labour with no pain relief needed.

Pains are not going anywhere have been steady pain since this morning my back is very sore, have bag packed and ready

Was shocked to find out I am only 1cm dilated did not think you could president pain at this stage as others said it shouldn’t hurt at only 1cm

Just try to rest up as much as possible, perhaps a bath?

Kerry00 · 27/04/2021 01:01

Took painkillers to help me have a better sleep hopefully as I’ll need my rest now, going to run a bath now and relax

Yes, get everything ready to go in Kerry, bag packed, phone charged, some snacks to hand to take in with you.
Then rest for half an hour and see how you feel.

Kerry00 · 27/04/2021 01:05

Scary thought that I could stay 1cm for a while especially having these constant pains making things worse but going to rest as much as I can

Kerry00 · 27/04/2021 12:08

Head down in right position

LuubyLuu · 27/04/2021 12:18

itsgettingwierd · 27/04/2021 12:21

I had extremely constant pain in my lower back too - you have my sympathy!

Also got to 1cm with head down with those pains and had some light bleeding.

Kerry00 · 27/04/2021 12:38

It’sgettigweird it is awful the back pain isn’t it! how long before you went into proper labour with being 1cm and head down?
