What’s this song from?

Following on from another thread - music box dancer. What is this from? I’ve googled and it mentions things like an episode of The Simpsons, but I’m sure it’s been on something as a theme tune - I definitely recall hearing it lots.

Ohhhhh that is bugging me now! TV theme tune or ad from long ago, I’m sure. I’ll ask dh in the morning if nobody has cracked it by then, he’s good at things like this!

It must have been on something around the mid eighties because I bought the sheet music then. Can’t remember what though, sorry.

I was sure it was an ad because I remember it being just a short bit of the music, just a couple of repetitions of the melody.
