Eating out suggestions in Alderley Edge/Cheadle area

Up to Cheshire in early June to visit family, I'm looking for lunch and dinner recommendations for 2 adults who like to eat well, no budget. Have a car so can travel, but ideally not into Manchester or too far.

The Cat and Fiddle has reopened if you fancy a short drive

Yara and The Merlin in Alderley are nice.
Gusto in Cheadle Hulme.
The governors in Cheadle Hulme for nice pub grub.

Yara in Cheadle is lovely and very sociable sharing platters etc

I've heard the Red Lion in Cheadle is good too for really good food

Pointing Dog in Cheadle Hulme

Depends how much of a foodie you are, some of these recommendations are cheap and cheerful places.

Cheadle Hulme has some good pub grub places, but personally I'd put The Governors at the bottom of the list (The John Millington, The Hesketh and The Church Inn are all nicer)

Indian Tiffin Room in Cheadle does great street food, very different to a curry house, but is very small so can be difficult to book. Aamchi Mumbai is round the corner and is bigger and does similar food but I'm not 100% convinced it has survived lockdown. I quite like Istanbul Grill in Cheadle and it's big so easy to get a table!

If you don't mind driving towards Manchester there are some lovely restaurants in West Didsbury, The Lime Tree is one of the last restaurant I went to before lockdown. I like Greens (owned by Simon Rimmer) but it is veggie! Hispi is Didsbury is fab too.

There's so much choice, I'd hit the Good Food Guide and do a bit of research there too.

The Metropolitan in East Didsbury is also nice

100% foodies, been to Lime Tree before. Really budget is no limit.

I've booked Oddfellows on the Green to stay, we usually go to Didsbury House hotel but they aren't open until July. Has anyone stayed there?

Where the Light Gets In in Stockport is probably the best option without driving too far. It won a sustainability Michelin star recently.

Hispi is probably your second best choice. Really top notch service, good presentation and a good menu.

Not stayed at Oddfellows, it is walking distance from me. It's in the middle of Bruntwood Park so lots of people milling about during the day (it's also directly under the flight path but that's less of an issue at the moment). but should be very quite at night.

Thanks all, I've booked Piccolino for lunch and Hispi for dinner. Looking for somewhere for a spot of lunch on the way back from Cheshire to Cambridge now!
