Moving to Henley area help

Good morning mumsnetters. We are relocating for work to the Henley area, we are not keen on living in Henley, and we will be renting for a year or 2.
We don't know the area and we like quiet places, rural, we don't need a lot, but would like a safe quiet place and we have children primary age, so a nice good school is a must.
Henley is pretty but too busy for us.
Any advice? Villages? Thank you!
Oh! Places to avoid?

Have you looked at Stoke Row, it’s only 10 mins outside of Henley and is a beautiful little village. My children went to primary school there and it was very nurturing.

I think if you're renting then that needs to be your starting point. See what houses fit your requirements as a family and eliminate the ones in areas that aren't suitable.

Hurley is lovely though.
