Moving to Henley area help

Good morning mumsnetters. We are relocating for work to the Henley area, we are not keen on living in Henley, and we will be renting for a year or 2.
We don't know the area and we like quiet places, rural, we don't need a lot, but would like a safe quiet place and we have children primary age, so a nice good school is a must.
Henley is pretty but too busy for us.
Any advice? Villages? Thank you!
Oh! Places to avoid?

Have you looked at Stoke Row, it’s only 10 mins outside of Henley and is a beautiful little village. My children went to primary school there and it was very nurturing.

Henley in Arden or Henley on Thames?

Inajiffy · 26/04/2021 09:06

Sorry Henley-on-thames thank you @theairbender

@Pinkandpurplehairedlady I will have a look straight away thank you!

We are clueless, we have only lived in London and Surrey and I wasn't born here.

Thank you

I think if you're renting then that needs to be your starting point. See what houses fit your requirements as a family and eliminate the ones in areas that aren't suitable.

Hurley is lovely though.

Ok! Can only help with the Midlands one - good luck 😀
