I have a reindeer pelt. It is absolutely beautiful, so warm (eg on the back of a chair) and cost €100.

It moults so much that I can't actually use it because the hair gets everywhere.

I want to use it because it's gorgeous (and was expensive). Don't really want to save it for camping and outdoors stuff because I don't want to get it dirty.

I've already tried beating it at the door a la 1950s rug cleaning to get rid of hairs but that doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

Could you groom it with a horse brush till all the loose hairs are out? Might get out more than just beating it. I brush my sheepskin run with a tangle teaser brush, but I feel like a reindeer has a different texture, so probably different needs Grin

Sounds like your house may be too warm and that’s why it’s shedding.

Me too! Then the vacuum picks it up and makes that horrendous noise. I'm pleased it is not just me.

It did start in Spring but my house is freezing. But still warmer than Lapland I guess. That's a good point. My office is brassic so once I've brushed it, I'll move it in there and enjoy it when I'm working.
