Kindle unlimited

Does anyone have this? I got it about 6 months ago but seriously considering cancelling as I feel like I’ve read everything good! (Along with a fair bit of rubbish!). I read a lot, hence why I thought it would be good value, but the recommendations aren’t really changing. I check through all the lists it offers me, such as “inspired by your reading history” but there’s never more than a dozen books there.

Am I missing something? I want to be able to browse by genre within the “unlimited” offerings but there doesn’t seem to be such an option. Maybe I’m searching in the wrong way? Does anyone have any tips or is it just rubbish and I should cancel?

I think it's pretty crap and none of the books I wanted to read are on there.

I keep an eye on the daily and monthly 99 p deals and buy the books I want at that price.

I have loads of books to read and spend less than £8 a month.

I have it free with my kindle oasis. So far I have read a fair few. And have a long list to read through. Not happy about the fact u don’t get to keep the books u paid for though. Mine is free for three months but I don’t think I will pay for it when that is up mostly because of the not keeping the books fact.

You can search for a genre by name and then filter to prime or kindle unlimited, if that helps at all?

I had 3 months free then cancelled - vaguely hoping they offer me another deal. Currently reading anything free with prime which means I’m getting a lot of ‘book 1 of series’ which I will never pay to conclude Grin

Feel the same, although I quite like the idea of having the audiobooks, especially for children's stories.

If you go into your kindle unlimited page, towards the top of the page next to manage your membership is a link to browse the catalogue. This gives you the usual sections down the left hand side but for kindle unlimited books only.

I have it as I read loads and it would cost a fortune to keep buying books!

Ah thanks for the tips, I can see more books now that I might want to read. Will give it another couple of months now I know how to browse properly and see if it’s worth it.

Regarding keeping the books, I have the kindle app on my iPad and the books I’ve bought have stayed in my library.

I have Scribd on my ipad and it's worth the £10 per month. It has every book I've ever wanted, including obscure reference books for my uni studies. It also has sheet music which is a bonus.
